The Organized Market Committee, chaired by Hristina Davidovska, from Energy Financing TIM DOOEL Skopje, recently convened to discuss key advancements in Macedonia’s power exchange.  The Committee comprises nine members, all actively involved in the Macedonian power market: Atanas Nastev from GEN-I, Viktor Delov from Danske Commodities DOOEL Skopje, Nikola Ushinov from EVN Macedonia, Antonio Ivanovski from AD ESM Skopje, Natasha Dogramadjieva-Maneva from Energy Active DOOEL Skopje, Ljupcho Najdov from Renewable Energy Supply RES DOO Skopje, Dragan Naumovski from TE-TO AD Skopje, and Ioannis Panagiotopoulis and Vladimir Shosholchev from Duferco MK DOO Skopje.

The meeting, attended by MEMO’s CEO, Zoran Gjorgjievski, together with the Head of the Organized Electricity Market Department, Mitko Ognenoski, and the expert team, focused on pivotal updates, including the planned introduction of the euro as a trading currency in the first quarter of 2025.

This change is essential for integrating Macedonia’s electricity market into the single European market, enabling market coupling with neighboring EU countries, and facilitating an intraday market in the future.

The Committee’s role is crucial in advancing the day-ahead market, introducing new products, and staying aligned with global trends.

With 35 active participants daily, Macedonia’s power exchange continues to strengthen offering reliable hourly prices.
