Productive meeting with representatives from the Energy Community Secretariat.
Today, the CEO of the National Electricity Market Operator – MEMO, Zoran Gjorgjievski, held a bilateral meeting with Artur Lorkowski, Director of the Energy Community Secretariat.
The focus of the discussions between the MEMO and Energy Community Secretariat teams included:
- The importance of market coupling, with power exchanges in neighbouring countries and the EU
- The introduction of Guarantees of Origin, which MEMO will start issuing soon.
- Further alignment of national legislation with European energy standards.
Lorkowski confirmed the Energy Community’s commitment to supporting the reform processes in the country, as well as MEMO’s activities for the successful integration of the Macedonian electricity market into the single European market.
