
According to data from the National Electricity Market Operator (MEMO), in January 2025, 643 GWh of electricity was sold to meet the country’s total electricity consumption, excluding losses, i.e., net consumption.
Transactions from domestic production amounted to 554 GWh, of which ESM accounted for the largest share with 315 GWh, or 57%, followed by independent producers with 176 GWh (32%), virtual producers with 34 GWh (6%), and preferential producers using a preferential electricity tariff with 29 GWh (5%).
The share of domestic electricity production in terms of net consumption is 86%.
